• (i) Short-listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks for a particular examination centre. SC and ST candidates will be given due weightage while short listing. 


• (ii) The qualifying cut off percentage of a particular centre may be increased if more number of applications with higher percentage are received.


• (iii) The written tests will be objective type.


• (iv) Those who qualify written tests will undergo Physical Fitness Test and Medical Examination (Preliminary). The testing procedure will take 2-3 days. Candidates belonging to the physically handicapped category are not eligible to apply for this examination. 


• (v) The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests. 

The PFT will consist as under:-

• * 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.

* 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
(vi) Candidates who qualify the Physical fitness test will only be required to undergo initial
recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centres.
(vii) Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for
medical examination in a ratio as may be decided by Coast Guard.
(viii) The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests
depending upon the available vacancies. The Zone wise select list of candidates will be
displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in in the
month of Jul 13. It is clarified that select list will be zone wise and not centre wise.

Qualification :

• Candidate must hold a Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.


• Computer literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.


• Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the  State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.
  Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of  the Union.

• Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.


• Rs. 400 /- for all others
